About these terms

In these terms, “bene”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of bene.sg, and “you” means the person using the site and, where you act for a company, that company.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the site. Any insurance policy you take up has its own terms, set by the insurer in its policy documents.

What bene is, and what it is not

bene helps Singapore employers compare group insurance and employee benefits from the insurers on our panel, and helps them arrange cover.

bene is not an insurer. We do not issue policies, set premiums, underwrite risks or decide claims. Insurers do.

Advice on group insurance is given by a representative of SingCapital Pte. Ltd., a licensed financial adviser, after we have understood your company’s needs. Our Disclosures page at bene.sg/disclosures sets out who advises you, how we are paid and which insurers we work with.

General information, not advice

The articles, product explainers, glossary, FAQs and comparisons on this site are general information. They do not take into account the specific objectives, financial situation or needs of your company or any employee, and they are not a recommendation to buy any product.

Before you decide on cover, speak with us so that we can understand your needs and recommend suitable options, and read the insurer’s policy documents.

This website has not been reviewed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

The premium calculator

The calculator at bene.sg/calculator gives indicative yearly premium ranges for teams of 2 to 200, based on insurers’ published SME package rates and a typical office age mix. It is an estimate, not a quote or an offer of insurance.

Actual premiums depend on your employees’ details, the plans you choose, underwriting and the insurer’s rates at the time, and may be higher or lower than the estimate. Please get an exact quote before you make budgeting decisions.

Quotes and cover

When you ask for a quote, we request terms from insurers for you. We aim to send exact quotes within the next working day, but timing depends on the insurers and on the information we receive.

A quote is the insurer’s offer on the information given, and may change if that information changes. Premiums, benefits, limits, exclusions and conditions are set by the insurer after underwriting.

Cover starts only when the insurer confirms it in writing. Nothing on this site, and no message from us, puts cover in place by itself.

If anything this site says about a product differs from the insurer’s policy wording, the policy wording applies.

Employee engagement activities

bene also organises employee engagement activities for companies, such as workshops, health talks, movie screenings and sports tournaments. The terms below apply to these activities, together with the rest of these terms:

• Activities are free for bene clients, meaning companies whose group insurance is arranged through bene and is in force on the date of the activity. Other companies may enquire, and we will tell them the cost before anything is booked.
• All activities, free or paid, are subject to availability, including of facilitators, speakers, venues and dates. We cannot guarantee a particular activity, date or time.
• An activity is booked only when we confirm it in writing. Before we do, we will tell you what it includes, such as the facilitator or speaker, materials and venue, and anything your company needs to arrange or pay for.
• We may limit the number, size or frequency of free activities for each client.
• If a facilitator, speaker or venue becomes unavailable, we may change or cancel an activity, even after we have confirmed it. Where we can, we will offer another date or a similar activity.
• Health talks are general information. They are not medical advice for any person, and employees should speak to their own doctor about their health.
• Free activities are not part of any insurance policy. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash, a premium discount or anything else.
• We may change these activities, or stop offering them free, at any time. Activities we have already confirmed will still go ahead unless a facilitator, speaker or venue becomes unavailable.

Your responsibilities

When you use the site or deal with us, you agree:

• To give us accurate and complete information, and to tell us promptly if anything changes. Insurers price and accept cover on this information, and wrong or missing information can affect cover and claims.
• That you are authorised to act for your company and to share with us any employee data you send, having notified your employees and obtained any consent the law requires.
• Not to misuse the site, for example by trying to disrupt it, gain unauthorised access, send spam or automated requests, or copy its content at scale.
• To use the site only for lawful purposes.

Accuracy of information

We work to keep the information on this site accurate and up to date. Insurers change their products, rates and terms, however, and we cannot guarantee that everything on the site is complete or current at all times.

Insurer and product details on the site are summaries. Check the details that matter to you with us, or in the insurer’s documents, before you rely on them.

Links to other websites

The site links to websites run by others, such as insurers, regulators and WhatsApp. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

Intellectual property

The content and design of this site, including its text, graphics, photographs and the bene name and wordmark, belong to bene or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own business use, but you may not copy, republish or sell them without our written permission.

Insurer names and logos belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the insurers we work with and compare. Their use does not mean that an insurer endorses bene.

Limitation of liability

We provide the site and its tools “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the general information, estimates or tools on the site, or from the site being unavailable or containing errors.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profit, business or data, however it arises.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Singapore law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. When we give you advice, our duties are set by the laws and regulations that apply to financial advisers, and these terms do not reduce them.

Privacy

Our Privacy Notice at bene.sg/privacy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data, including data about your employees.

Changes to these terms and to the site

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and the version on the site when you use it applies to that use.

We may also change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. The courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site.

This does not affect your right to refer a dispute about financial advice to the Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre (FIDReC), where you are eligible to do so.
